In the lands of Tharitsia, roam magical entities, divine spirits and living creatures of all forms. Bathed in the rays of the sun, the living thrive. The human race is however a notable exception.
Neither a living creature, a magical entity or a divine spirit, mankind is a peculiar mix of all three, yet belonging to neither. As such, humans consider themselves to be the creation of their godess, whom they call the Gaia Spirit.
Humans grow like living creatures. And as such they can learn from their past. They adapt to situations and can endure much hardship. Humans are also able to master the different arts of magic, given time and practice. And thus they have been able to master their surroundings, creating large monuments and grand halls. Humans also have the gift of thought, as well as many intuitions and insights. Thus they are able to imagine and dream, creating new outcomes from within old paths.
Helas, man could not content himself with so all these gifts. Man sougt ever more power. Finally, when all land was conquered, and the world barely surviving, and many creatures and entities destroyed, Man turned towards a new rival; himself. Brother faught brother in a bitter war for domination. As the years turned to decades, the decades longing into centuries, countries emerged. Gortekia, Merkain and Sereteď. All three led by powerful Arch Sages.
Gortekia was home to Manswell the Great, and Arch Sage of Fire who'se burning ambition reflected his brutal rule...
Sereteď was governed by the "Honorable" Ephidel the Theologist, an enlightened man who saught to share his illumination with those who refused to see the light by all means...
Merkain...wasn't goverend by a single man. Rather, it was ruled by a senate, composed of the Noble Classes, and higher up, by a Grand Senator. At that period in time, the Grand Senator was Lordess Lyndoline, a Sage of many attributes...
Parallel to these countries, there were mercenary bands. Men and women with no attachements and only interested in profitable goals.
In this grand turmoil of chaos and war for domination, each country faught.
No one can certify for sure what happened. All that is known is that a mysterious cataclysme brought all countries to one battle field. A battle of which no soldier or sage returned. Inluding the grand rulers....
Many years since then have passed. Most of the Sages of Grand now legends and folkslore...
